Thanks Charlie,

Mate I sold her for the RS I'm currently riding. I had them both for awhile. Nice to hide behind that big screen in the rain...

Should that read "My first brick" if you're riding the red RS now? Looks like it was in great condition.

What chip did you use? I chiped mine and all it did was overfuel it in the bottom end and kill the top end so that it wouldn't even run to the rev limiter in 4th and die when put into 5th.
I couldn't get rid of the thing fast enough.

Hi Rick,

It came from the UK approx $45...
I kept the old one in the packaging so there maybe a name I can get back to you with.

I have not had the K1100RS very long, September, I road it for a little and then took her off the road, I have only finished doing a great deal of work to her in the last couple of days - enough to do a road test anyway - back to the driving lights today.

Given that I replaced the air filter, found basic problems like the spark plug caps where not all the way home and arcing on two pots and replaced the chip there are three things that could or have made a difference.

Overfuel in the bottom end, I found that as fast as you can turn your wrist she will burn it, I've had LeMan's over the years and they were easy to load up at the bottom end with the pumper carbs. I enjoy the sound that my bike makes under load when you open the throttle but I do not believe she is getting bogged down, she jumps to and pulls away in quick time.
The flat spot at low revs just when you want the bike leap, (or is it just me - this is my 3rd K) seems to be gone.
To address high in the rev range, I experienced no signs of the bike not wanting to just go faster.

A little more time on the road will give a absolute picture.

It looks like you are just down the road a little. Id be up for a run early in the new year if you are keen?

See how things pan out but I am having front Master Cylinder problems ATM. Its jamming almost as soon as the piston goes into the bore at the back seal so it wont return and wont pump the pads back to the disc and of course trying to get sense out of any business now till after new year is optimistic to say the least.
I put a kit through not long before the New England ride and it was doing it a tiny bit then and after the discs went on its just not working at all.
Have a feeling I may go back to the Kawasaki when its rebuilt.

My Montesa is a 247 Mk 4b, used to tow it to trials on a trailer behind my Vincent outfit, great days!

PS Those listed are my current bikes, ex's would be a much longer list.

Paul.

Hi Rick,

Here with Link to the chip I discussed.

Ebay Link to Chips

88KE,
Mate she was in good nick, I painted her up my self, I will never do that again.
What can I say, the lady in red came along, we had a wild time and I decided I was not to old to back to a RS with a bigger faster smoother motor.

K100RT - 1989 3a82e22b87d1b6396be9cb858fd0f381

Hi Paul,

51 Vincent !!!! God yes!  Such simplistic styling with brute force...
I really enjoyed riding competition trials, particularly the 250/350 Sherpa Ts. I picked a 348 Cota on my way to Canberra on a 2 year posting for something to do. She was a lot lumpier than the Bullys I could never ride that bike as well as I could the Bullys, having said that, it could have towed your trailer your cota you and your 51 Vincent, as you know.....   Very Happy

The chip I got was supposed to be a copy of a Harman, didn't look like that, so I don't know if it's a piece of junk or a bad copy but it sure didn't work.

Rick G,

Mate a time will come when you will be able to throw a leg over Bluey.
I got a second road test in two nights ago, she flys.......
They quote "Up to 20HP more" I don't know so much about that, however, she flys.......
