My 87 K100RS came with this very nice remote-reservoir dual-adjustable gas shock mounted. I don't see any make on it, and don't recognize it myself. Needs to be refreshed, but first I need to figure out who made it?

It looks similar to an ancient Fox shock, now defunct for motorbikes. I'm not 100% on that, however.

Yes, it's actually very nice and I'm sure was expensive when new. I'm trying GP Suspension in Oregon - some friends have had very good success with them, and they say on another board they can work on old Fox stuff (if that's actually what this is). Truthfully for refreshing the shock it's pretty much just a matter of being able to get parts (seals and etc.).

GP confirms that it is a Fox shock, and say they can rebuild it for me. Now if someone has a spare OEM shock laying around that would keep the bike ridable while they're rebuilding it... (hint, hint)

Have a look at this one before you buy...

Add a 10% discount for forum members and the deal's even sweeter. I've been reading good things about them and the bloke is a member here.

I saw that, but no need to buy when I can get the Fox double-clicker rebuilt. It would just be nice to have something to hold the back of the bike up in the meantime; but I can wait until the S1000RR comes back from the dealer.

KeS,

I have a fox double clicker on my K100.

Settings were a bit of a mystery until I found this.

Thanks! I'm pretty used to setting up shocks, though it seems weird to be measuring sag settings on something this size!

I'm just glad I can get it refurbed. Shock refresh has to be the best deal on the planet.

What did the quote you to rebuild the shock Kevin? I've got an old one that is going to need to be redone before the summer season.

I didn't ask specifically - they have a service price sheet on the website, but with an old shock you never know what seals, etc. they'll need as well. I'm always happy with shock rebuild prices, so I didn't press for details.

Yeah, once I saw how close they were and that they're an official Ohlins service center I will be calling soon.
