Hi All just wanted to say Hi, I have a BMW K100RS from 1985, Its silver has done 15k Miles and is in good pinch, I want to change a few bits, like the coolant viewing tube so that I can see how much it has as this is now discoloured etc, also does anybody know where I can get a top box and a tank bag for the bike? Live near Leicester.

Welcome to the forum! A few members around Leicester too so you are not alone. Keep an eye out for Snod Blatter. I know there are some forum members coming over for a weekend trip to Northern Ireland on 19th September. Snod Blatter is hoping to make it too. . . Holyhead to Dublin ferry Friday afternoon, return Sunday! Cheap hotel deal too..

There is a BMW tank bag, I got one from a forum member. Its got its own raincover too. The tank is aluminium so magnetic ones don't work. The BMW one can be hard to find but a good one is worth the wait and cost.

There is also a Bagster tank cover/tank bag. EBay is a good bet.

If you have the sloping rear rack there is a BMW K top box to fit. Forum or eBay again.

The coolant tube is a simple length of clear plastic and someone may have a piece to spare. I know I do as I just changed mine. But you want 2 small jubilee clips too.

Little word of advice. If the tyres are over 4 years old, change them for new ones. Even if there is tread on them. They go hard and horrible..

Motorworks and Motobins are great source of parts.

Some photos soon we hope!

Hi There,

Thanks For the reply, the tires are ancient, at least 10 years old, don't worry I have it booked in for next week, many thanks for the advice and I will hold out for the right part at the right price.

As there's no pressure at the coolant bottle hose, I just use cable ties.....neater and easier.

Paul.
