I have an old 1983 k100 with rubber mounted footplate hangers. Does anyone know what models and years are interchangeable/compatible with my bike, for upgraded/ non rubber hangers. Thanks

Be shure that you also get the ekshaust rubber mount as this is different on
the later models, you also need to modify the bracket on the silencer.

Also be shure that you get the brake light switch, if RHS hanger is from a
-87 year model or later....or you need to modify this part too, to accept
the earlier type brake light switch.

Alternatively fit a hydraulic brake light switch directly to the rear caliper. No messing around with making adapters/brackets then.

Hydraulic brake light switches are not a legal retro fit in Australia and even vehicles that had them as OEM the owners are encouraged to retro fit a mechanical switch that comes on as soon as the brake pedal/lever is moved.
I have found from personal experience that the hydraulic switches are less reliable than mechanical especially because dirty brake fluid will prevent them from working under light braking.

A question: why would one change the foot peg mounting plate to a later version?  Are the early models thought to be lacking in some way?  Surprised--o:

Yes....the early models were supposed to suppress vibration, but were found to increase it, hence the upgraded design.
