Since shipping wheels is a pain in the butt, I put this front wheel up for sale on the local Craig's List:

http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/mpo/4591380690.html

I got this email this morning in response to my ad:

"If you can get that wheel to mount on the front of a K bike ... I'd give you $10,000.00 ... it's a REAR wheel ... duh !!"

I told him to come by my house for me to install the front wheel and to bring the $10,000 in cash. Laughing

Then I get this email in response:

"Your an idiot ... I have several K bikes and that young man is a rear wheel ! "

Maybe the email I just sent to him will work:  (I included a pic of a Y spoke rear to help him out.)

"Like I said, come by and be sure to bring the $10,000 with you.

I've only owned 19 different K bikes over the years and currently only own eight of them.

Gee, I wonder who owns this site? www.classickbikes.com  Yep, that'd be me.

Here's what a rear Y-spoke looks like.  Notice the large concave holes for the lug bolts? Notice there aren't any of those  in FRONT wheel that I'm selling?"

Tell him that no further correspondence will be entered into and that you have no intention of getting into a battle of wits with a unarmed man.

Maybe he's trying to make living from his wit. Well then, he'd be making half a living

He would be the idiot since he doesn't distinguish the obvious difference between the words your and you're as it applies here, and is the young man he refers to a rear wheel, also?

I'd be curious to know if he just goes away quietly or has the nungas to apologise to you for his arrogant bluster and indisputable mistake.

I now have the urge to re-design my "K" as a front-wheel drive just to put the 18" on the back!
Let's see.... it'd need to be rear steered, and an extra gear to reverse the diff.........?

That is so funny. The "old" guy probably had never seen a front wheel without the brake disks still attached. Hopefully he learned some things.
