Hi, My name is Jim and I'm a fairly new owner of a Mystic Red 1994 K75 RT with 57,600 miles.  Had her since late April and have put on a little over 3,000 commuting miles.  Found this forum looking for info on alternator drive noise(turned out to be bad bearings) and am very impressed by the level of knowledge and civility here.

This is my seventh or eighth bike now.  Previously owned a series of Enduro bikes, mostly Honda XL125 models (lovely little motors that in stock configuration would give you 5,000+ miles at 12,000 rpm with nary a wimper) that I campaigned very successfully in enduros and two day trials in the 70's and early 80's.  Last bike was a Honda FT500 street thumper(I have a thing for singles) was about 20 years ago.  At 66 years of age I think this K will probably be my last bike as I plan to run it until one of us throws a rod.

You are very welcome. Safe to assume you will throw a rod before the K ever does because they go on forever, so its worth minding it. Hopefully you will get many good years out of it too. XL125 is a great motor, loved them.

We do enjoy a bit if chat and conversation too, all well meaning. And yes, everyone is very civil, its just how we are. Some of us meet up but everyone swaps technical knowledge and you will see people swapping parts and helping someone out.

If you haven't read it go to the home page and check out the section on what to do if you just bought a K bike.

In the meantime enjoy the K and the commute.

Olaf

I know what you mean about getting old. I used to love the Snap, Crackle and Pop from my cereal, now it's the sound my body makes
