Went and explored the Lakes today with one of my biker friends and his bike Squinty (one of the GS things....he gets upset when i say it looks like someone has just shoved something rather large up its exhaust pipe.....)
Anyway its a stunning road and would highly recommened it if you are over here! If nothing else its really funny to watch the idiots on Harleys try and fail

So it is! Was that stretch of the road horrendously bumpy when you did it?

Don't remember it as very bad.....but it was 12 years ago, and I'm used to
Norwegian (side)roads.

It was almost like it had been plowed! still worth it for the views though. never really explored the Lakes, think i may have to go back and go wandering!

Thanks for the memory Becky - I burnt out the clutch on my first Yamaha 250 near the top of Hardknott Pass in 1980. Some eejit in a Volkswagon coming downhill wouldn't give way and trying to restart the climb on that bike with a pillion was a bit too much for it. Now for the spooky coincidence - just this morning I found a few pictures of that very bike!!

Ha ha same happened to us, they just don't give way! Bikey was awesome though, he always is!

Looks a lot like South Island New Zealand country side.

Would be hard work getting a hardly up that hill or even worse down it.
