I mentioned in an earlier post that I 'inherited' a R80RT fairing when I bought my Goldwing.

I want to mount this on my K; as pictures seen of this combination looks quite good. Except, I have no idea how to mount this fairing. The mounting hardware off the original fairing was not with when I bought the Goldwing; instead it was at best; a jury rigged affair.

Amy member done this build and if so, can you please advise hoe and where the fairing is/should be mounted? or, are their pictures somewhere out there showing the mounting hardware and how it should be used on a K conversion?

Tks in advance ....

Obtain an Airhead RT fairing mount and modify it to (widen it) accept the slightly off centre bolt holes which the K fairings mount to. The difference is that an Airhead fairing mount goes straight into the centre of the bike's steering head.

You could also try to search info about Ongar (GB) and Wüdo (D) which both made conversion sets for the R fairing to fit the K.

Gunsport I have a r series replica fairing on my K75c I have taken the fairing off to paint it and have the bracket on the bench. however i cant figure out how to pair my phone to the pc to transmitt the pics, when my daughter gets up in the morning i will ask her how to do so and post the pics for that bracket. I can tell you that its made from 20mm round tubing connected to a peice of 75mm angle with the holes to mount to the headstock the upper tubing is a t peice it's welded to the top of the angle iron peice and comes out 100mm then the t is 430mm wide across the front with 3mm flat bar 25mm wide poking out further forward by 140mm and bent the last 30mm to match the fairing, the bottom tubing is bent and curves down to about 80mm below the angle iron that bolts to the headstock, probably could be a straight piece though if you cant bend tubing, and where the tubing T's it replicates the top tubing so is also 340mm wide and 100mm out from the mount, with short bent flat bar 3mm by 25mm it hangs down by 50mm and is acutly bent out to the sides to meet the fairing at the bottom of the or about level with the forks cutouts in the fairings lower glasswork. now these T's have brackets on them replicating the locating points for the unfaired headlight bracket found on my C models. If your bike's trile clamps dont have the holes in them that the naked bikes headlamp assembly mounts to it might be abit hard to imagine this bracket from the getgo. This mount for the fairing is homemade and it bolts to the r series fairing at 2 points in the upper fairing about 50mm from and on the same line as the rearmost indicator lens curves over the fairing the other 2 holes are as said before under the fairing and about midpoint along the vent in these fairings or about 70mm below the ridge line in that fairing. If I can find away to post the pics or steal a camera to do it with, i'll post the pics
