Hi allAfter my introductory message last week,i am pleased to finally got the K75 running. It had sat for anywhere from 2 -6 years and im not sure if it had been ever started in that time. I changed all the fluids and filters, cleaned out the tank tested the pump.used Permatex Gas Tank and Radiator Repair on some pin holes, lubed the drive shaft and set it up to start. No neutral light meant pulling in the clutch lever, and the starter button is missing its outer piece and return spring so i had to make sure that didnt keep contacting. After 2-3 minutes of popping it finally kicked in,sounding quite healthy. Plenty of smoke and dusty discharge initially but it soon cleared.Anyone got an old starter button lying about, id be keen to talk!Next step is new brake shoes/pads,tyres plus further tidying up.Take care , Richard

sorry ive allready used my spare ,i think you can ride it without the spring until you find a new button -spring, since the electronics keep the starter from running above 711rpm , just keep the idle above that speed. Very Happy

G'day Richard and welcome to the forum.

My starter button came off, so I put it some place where it won't get lost. If I can only just remember where that was...

Good on ya for getting the bike running again too!
