I rode pillion and found the rear handles weren't that good under accelleration. I've had more confidence inspiring rides with a strap in front to pull down on, so I took some truckers tie down (narrow seat belt material) and tied it securely around the seat.

Does someone have a better idea? Are there any plans out there for welding up a seat back?

I think a re-enforced top box mount complete with padding to provide an efficient "wife stopper" is probably the best other than some sort of strangle hold on the rider. Very Happy

I am not fond of riding pillion at the best of times but trying to brace yourself while holding on behind is not very re-assuring.

There is also a kind of belt that the rider wears with large loops for the pillion to hang onto that I have seen for sale.

Regards,

Phil
