Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows of any nice hotels or campsites in the east midlands or around Derby way, its for Friday 11th (bloody tour de france is in the area so could be difficult, think ive finally found someone worse at geography than me!) just wondering if anyone knows of any hidden gems, willing to go a bit further afield for something nice and reasonibly priced!

Think bikey would just explode in Australia, he's seems to be getting way too hot even here in the UK... Anyone got any ideas?

One thing that gets overlooked is that when the fork seals leak the oil goes back into the radiator fins and that in turn collects dirt and dust and clogs the fins then not much air flow and a hot running bike.
I have used some engine degreaser sprayed into the fins and a garden hose to get the crap out and what a difference.
Be careful to try the degreaser on a tiny spot of paintwork that wont be seen to check if it does damage the paint. I have found that the cheaper degreaser is far less likely to get at the paint work.
Just shine a torch in through the front and you can often see the crap that is clogging it.
I think I remember you saying you had new fork seals.
When I bought my K1100 it had blown seals and the radiator was clogged really badly or very goodly depending how you see it.

Bikey has a lot of miles and could be clogged inside as well as outside. Having done a car radiator at 100k miles I can say take off rad and really cleaning it the job. But not close to your German trip. Just flush the cooling system and clean the fins. New coolant helps.

Tour de france? and you are on  K? and wondering where to stay?

Seems pretty bleedin obvious to me.

Strap a gopro to your helmet....Voila instant camera bike. Just merge with the other Ks with cameras strapped to them and stay where they stay.

I don't see much point pedaling up hillls when an engine makes it so easy.

When my water pump was taken out the impeller was virtually non existent. That of course affects the circulation and the cooling. But I did find on a car that doing the radiator at 100k miles took out a phenomenal amount of crud from inside the radiator. I used petrol and left it in it for a few hours then washed it out with a hose. I refilled it with more petrol and left it overnight and then washed it out again.

Getting the radiator off is a bit painful though- knee pads and storage boxes, fairing lower panels and radiator panel have to come off. Since the rad was off a few weeks ago to get at the fan it will come off easily.

In the meantime get Bikey wrapped in white and some BBC stickers and numbers and you can merge with the other Ks.........just as Rossko says....
