I have a dead fuel pump and a replacement is looking hard to get without spending a motza.
There is talk of using a Falcon fuel pump (EA EB ED EF etc) as a replacement but as they come with a hose fitting, I would need to cut the bottom out of the canister.
I talked to Repco and they said there are different pumps in sedans and wagons.
Anyone know which one I should be going for to try, or even if it likely to work?

The one I use is an EB sedan and you need some fuel proof foam to wrap it so it fits the rubber damper and 2 big zip ties to hold it. It has a different prefilter on the base but if you fold it in half and put a wire tie to hold it that way then it goes in easily

I even bought a spare to make sure I never need to replace a pump again.
He is at Springfield Bris you could get it today and see us at Guyra tomorrow

Not sure what things are like on the half of the earth that spins the wrong way but I can get an aftermarket unit for <$20 by searching Fleabay for "fuel pump 2042."  Worth a shot, eh?

It does not spin the wrong way it's just upside down:D

Looks like it's worth a try.
Unfortunately the bike decided to stop 100km from home so I either have to get a pump replacement to work or trailer it back home.

If you get stuck try a 1988 to 1992 corrolla ae20 intank fuel pump for the efi corrolla or the 1988 onwards camry which also ran a rail pressure of 38psi both come with an odd filter on the bottom but can be made to work they will require zippy ties to locate (the thick ones) about 200 to 300mm long, charlie99 used one from a corrolla I think he still has it in the tank, so grab a new one or grab one from the wreckers on the way out to your bike

yep the ae 86 ('82-88) the ae92 (88-92 ) have suitable pumps
the filter at the bottom should be good for doing the filter ..;instead of the basket that is standard on the k ( I had removed mine ...but wish I kept it on as the fuel level that it can suck down to is just a little higher ) no matter really
same terminals in every respect
BUT draws less power than the ford and bosch models made for bigger displacement vehicles
the "goss" fuel pump replacement catalogue list the rolla at about 3-4 amps where as the ford is up to 7 amps , kinda figures with the capacity differences required for the different vehicle engine sizes .

so im figuring a little less current through that tank connector is a good thing
