got thinking about the oil filters, any suggestions for reuseable air filters out there? anyone using one now?

K&N air filters are reusable.

K & N also have a reputation of letting a lot of dust through and also a lot of dubious claims have floated around by suppliers about performance increases that defy both logic and testing. Air filters are changed fairly rarely so I would stick to the original.

Use a washable UNI air filter on my K100. Sponge type you spray with air filter oil. Filter was $32 Cdn, huge can of spray oil about $15 (should last about 10 years). Clean and re-oil it midsummer. Sure beats over $100 for a K&N or $50 for the stock one.

Lets see... aprox. $4 us per filter, $4 into $160 us (with shipping maybe to make it easy) 40 filters times 3000 miles means you would have to travel 120,000 miles to break even. Of course that is assuming you get the same filtering with both types of filters. I have been averageing about 5000 miles a year. It would take me 24 years of riding to pay for the filter! I don't expect to live that long!
