Has anyone ridden the roads around the Boarder Ranges lately?

I want to do a day run and haven't been down those roads since they where dirt. I believe all roads are now sealed but how sealed is the question. I'm interested in the Lions road, Rathdowney to Kyogle and onto Casino plus the road back from the Bruxner Hwy through Bonalbo to Woodenbong.

I can't find anything newer than 2010 on line.

Me, Charlie and a few others were through most of that around last Christmas and they weren't too bad. A few really good parts and some not so good.

the lions road is mostly bitumen ...but still has some shocker bridge entry and exits and a few low level crossing on the qld side

the road over mount Lindsay is absolutely fantastic now  right back all the way down to Kyogle ...except a couple of road work areas up above grevillia  (about 200 meters only )

the road from woodenbong to tabulum is the normal fare for Kyogle shire ...potholes on top of potholes ...casino to tabulum  is ok  but you have to do tabulum to drake ....must do ,,,long climb on high speed corners ...breathtaking

paul (73moh) and I came back from drake through cassino ...Kyogle .cawongolah ..murwillumbar ...numinbar vally ...Nerang for a bit of a hoon around some corners ...a nice bit

highly recommended

Cheers guys, if I can shake off this Munich flu the boy brought back from Oktoberfest, I'll have a poke around next week. Going by charlies comments it's probably best to turn left at kyogle and head north up the valley.

I'm going to stick to my original plan and do a run this week end down lions road to kyogle and on to casino and then backup the crappy road to woodenbong. I got my canon camera back at last and want to do a bit of a photo trip. If you feel like a little adventure, come along... Not sure which day yet, the boss keeps the diary and she is crook, but I'm sure all of this week-end is clear.
