Just dropping a line as it says I must before I hammer people with questions Smile

Name is Chris Yelland. Live in Queensland, Australia. 26. married. diesel fitter by trade. pastor by occupation.

I might be a bit ahead of myself here, but i just bought a k100rs '84, picking it up on the weekend from a neighbouring town.

I dont want to offend anyone here, but I am keen to strip it back and start working on it asap into a brat style cafe racer. I have been stalking pretty much every forum from this site, as there is so much info and wisdom here. Love it.

Can't wait to share the project.

Welcome to the site. We do all kinds of things with K bikes. Some of us even ride them. More of us restore them to like new then look at them. Some just ride 'em and don't care what they look like. And....some turn them into cafe racers, naked bikes and rat bikes.

Quite a few of us get together from time to time.

The one thing in common is we love them and everyone helps everyone else out, technical, sharing and loaning and finding parts etc.

Photos etc are nice.

Go to the home page and there is a section on 'You have just bought a K bike' and take a read. They are around long enough that all the issues are well known and we all share inexpensive ways of dealing with them.

G'day Yelland.

When you start your project, it would be appreciated if you posted your journey here as well as including a few (dozen!) photos.

Qld is a big place...care to narrow it down to where you are?

Welcome  to the forum.
There is no better place to get support for your bike.
I believe that one other member is a pastor too.
Good luck and enjoy your renovation.

Hey there Chris.

I lived in Emerald, circa 1968-71. Worked at the CQ News. Don't suppose I'd recognise the town now though!

Enjoy your K bike Very Happy
