Hi guys. A bit of background is needed.
A mechanic acquaintance had expressed interest in buying my  K100 a year and a half ago. About 7 months back he couldn't go through with the deal and returned the bike. Trusting idiot that I was, I hadn't taken any form of deposit at all .I figured he was so passionate about buying it that I gave him the time for it.

Long story short he had cut literally all the wire connectors because he was trying to swap better connectors . He couldn't fit anything back in time before he closed down his shop.
I finally had the time to send the bike down to my now regular bike repair shop.
my regular mechanic just called and said hes got no idea what goes where. I tried calling the dealer ship here but they were no help. No replacement harness and the new mechs were so young they don't have experience with the K model.

That's the problem im facing . Ive got to start somewhere so I was hoping  some pictures might help.
I will try to post pics of my bike and its harness soon.

sad to hear of that ...

in the forum ....on the portal page ...is a link ....efi trouble shooting
in there is a drawing of the relative placement of the connections under the tank (with reasonable descriptions for what they do )

more importantly ...I hope he hasn't cut out the cables from the relay box towards the rear ...to all those connectors

similar connections should be available ...but you might have to search for a few ...especially the ignition switch and head light connections   where some have different sized connections for the higher current requirements ...but shouldn't be too hard to find locally  or a good substitute available )

just be careful with the hall sensor cabling there is an outer shield cable in that bunch ....which I recon is very important to have connected ...somehow

good luck !!!

Actually I might be able to help. I have just collected my 1984 K100 project... and spent the last week thinking...
I have made up an Excel sheet with all cable colours and what they do.
I then used my label printer and made labels. I managed to locate about 3/4 of the buggers....

That could be of help to you too.

Mine is a non ABS which apparently have a very different wiring.
Also there is a wiring harness for an ABS model for sale here in the UK.

Could help you get it.

PM me.

Thanks
To you guys esp FL 1963 for the replacement harness.
its on the bike . Now having to sort out other issues that come from the bike idling for 2 years.

will keep you guys posted . many thanks.
I may have to cough up for a fuel pump rubber damper.
but nothings available from the agent here, no alternatives here either.

the starter relay made in Malaysia which is next door for me but I have to wait 4 weeks for it to come from Germany . (irony)

fuel pump dampers
3. the pick up coil wiring heated up enough for the insulation to become very soft any idea why that happened?

cheers

there have been a few pictures of crimped cables of the wiring to the hall sensors mongo ....
it seems to get cut insulation from average ( poor attention to detail ) observations whilst installing
maybe some heatshrink could solve this issue ?  try getting "double wall" heat shrink ...its very tough and heat resistant ...and great mechanical protection ...stays softish flexible too

good luck ...keep at it need a clear picture of a 1984 K100 wiring harness. 112350

Use Bosch part number 0332 002 161 or equivalent from Tyco:  K100 Starter relay

I am sure this relay is used in many bikes or engines so part number search will often give a better result.

Crazy Frog:
I can not find "the download"  but would love to have a copy of this.  Could you please post a link to where you downloaded it?
Thanks,
Ken

Well, this certainly highlights the need for a form board. I have obtained an original loom for an '85 K100 and will be posting one for future reference, but it's still riding season here, so I can't say when that project will be started.

I just cannot understand why someone would do that (cut the connectors off). These are all fairly standard automotive quality and of much higher quality than, say, Lucas Electrics. Shocked

Good luck, I hope the new wiring does the trick for you.

Ah yes Lucas, certainly brings back memories of trying to figure out why the headlight on my T120 Bonnyville was a feeble glow till a friend rode it one night and wanted to know what I did to get the headlight so good.
Wasn't long after that I sold it.

went all the way to the Bosch dealer here in Singapore.
part is a one off .Its not common

while searching for it I came across a similar relay by Bosch made in Portugal.
the difference is that the one made in Malaysia has an extra diode in it . The Portugal version doesn't. So im not sure if there is an impact when using it.
will try to post pics once I learn how to.

Is anyone using the Portugal relay ?

cheers

There really isn't much in it the diode is there to help prevent arcing at the contacts when the relay releases.
It usually means the relay will last a bit longer as the contact points wont become as pitted.
Buy which ever one you can get soonest.
