Just spotted this Al, brought back memories. I did the Black Duck twice in 79,80 or 81 coming from Adelaide,
 fantastic trips on the old airhead , she clocked up 100,000km on the way home. 220,000 now. Left from work Thurs 5 pm, home midnight the following Wed and went to work Wed morning, I forget the actual distance 'cos i've lost my log book, lets just say it was a bloody long way!

You're not wrong, it was a bloody long way.

but we came away with the largest interstate club, longest distance female and longest distance rally dog awards and had a great time doing it.  Unfortunately that was the last Black Duck.  Got to see where Donald Campbell broke the world waterspeed record in Bluebird as well!
