Sure is purely functional, dont think I could ride it with my back.
The one thing that I see so often that does detract from the looks is that damn stupid square exhaust and its so difficult to do much about it now days with all the noise and polution garbage.

Yeh, the ride position is ok once you find a good spot, but no good for long rides!
I also agree about the exaust, that was going to be my first change. I'm a novice about bikes and i'm unsure about the law on emmissions, exhaust loudness etc. Also have not seen a big number of aftermarket exhausts on the K100 either :S

Seein as you are in the UK check out Motad they have a really good round muffler that sounds just right and I think it look a lot better.

That's the main focus, exhaust aswell as replacement rear shock.

nice job, bare alloy tanks look great on the bike. Agree re exhaust muffler, my heat shield lost a lug attachment and resonates at certain reves, may use some asbestos to fill the air gap and dampen the vibes? a polished stainless heat shield may look better than the black. I see you can purchase the lugs and fasteners for it from motobins uk.
