Hey guys,

I installed the Acewell 2853 on my bike a couple months ago and thoroughly enjoy the unit. Only thing left to be desired right now is fuel gauge functionality. I'm wondering if anyone has solved this problem yet or if it is even possible with the stock BMW sending unit? I was also considering buying the Acewell fuel float assembly, but transferring the components over to the stock BMW mounting plate as Acewell recommends cutting a hole in the top of the tank to install their unit and that's OUT OF THE QUESTION! This would be a last resort as riding the bike is too much fun right now, and I typically rely on the visual indication anyway! Hoping someone has discovered a work around in the meantime.

Ride Safe!

If it's just a low fuel light you want then the OEM gear in the tank will do the job, but if its a full on gauge then the answer lies somewhere in the don't know basket as the gauge and in tank gear may or may not be compatible.

you could make it work ......if you got the float sender out and reverse the cabling end to end on the sender block ....purely a theory thing at this point as i dont know anybody that has tried

I've also installed the acewell on my bike. I have a 91 K100RS that has the float fuel sender unit. I've connected the white wire to the acewell harness, and it seems to be getting a signal, but I'm not sure what the display is telling me. Anyone have an idea what functionality I'm getting with this straight connection setup?

The white wire is the low level signal, 5 liters left.
