When pulling off the fuel hoses on bottom of tank is it normal for gas to continue coming out of the pump discharge to fuel rail connection?
I understand there's a built-in check valve in the pump but mine will keep flowing gas, siphoning I would guess, unless I either drain the tank down low enough or tilt the tank over to stop it. I've had the bike since '87 and I've had the tank off countless times and IIRC it would usually dribble a little and then completely stop. It seems this started when I put a used pump in last year so I'm suspecting the check valve is stuck and/or not operating correctly. The pump seems to work fine otherwise.
