I've been having an annoying rattle coming from the fairing and had not been able to locate the source for a couple weeks. Tuesday as I left work it had become louder so when I stopped for fuel I stuck my hand up inside the fairing and started feeling around. Pulled out my left horn! 
Turns out the bracket had torn just above where it was welded to the fairing bracket. Odd.
