I have just purchased a 1990 K100LT, done 130,000kms. It's been well looked after. My first BMW. Looking forward to learning more about it. Great forum!!

Has been along time since I've ridden, great to be back on 2 wheels.

Cheers Todd Very Happy

Greetings Todd there is much to be learnt from this forum and it's supprizing just how many returning riders choose a brick.

I have the same bike and got it two years ago, love the BMW. The 1990 is the classic bike, hope you enjoy it.

Kia Ora Todd. It is a great feeling to be back on 2 wheels after a layoff. Take it easy for the first few weeks till you start " thinking bike" again. Maybe invest in a few refresher lessons, safety first eh? Lots here to help with the maintenance and good banter too. Welcome.

Well, what do I say. Bike was ridden down last evening by a friends friend, he came off it in Pirongia, so I have a bit of damage to fix #$^&^%$^$$#((*!!.... Sad
For the New Zealanders on here, what are some good places for parts, namely:- Right rear indicator, windscreen (was a brand new one .... expletive), rear wheel (buckled), bottom right fairing (could fix myself), and right pannier destroyed. Have also looked on TM.

Yes I'm a bit gutted. oh well, be a good project. At least the rider lived. Very Happy The $260 for a bike courier sounds better now lol

On a brighter note, the bike drove well (while on the road) I'm told. Mechanically sound thus far. Cool

Thanks

Welcome to the K Bike Family. Sorry to read about the mishap your bike has had. Murphy was on the pillion seat. I hope parts are readily available in N.Z as they are begining to get in short supply and expensive here in South Africa Good Luck with the repairs!

Bike breakers and dealers are your best chance to pick up s/h bits. Phone around with a "do you have a s/h XXXX or do you know anyone who might have a s/h XXXX (whatever the part is)
