Greetings to all, nice to meet like minded BMW owners.

Let me introduce myself. I had an ex police K100RT back in the day when I was dispatch riding, loved it, big old beast that was just perfect, which is to say there was no pillion seat for the heffer of a wife (Now happily an ex wife) however the wife me sell the Beemer (Now happily an ex wife)

Divorce and middle age are a bad combination for a man with a hankering for the past, so after 8 years of no bikes i decided to take a peek onto Ebay.. Bad move.. £600 lighter and a trip to Wales I have had my new K100RT for two years. 112,000 miles on the clock but still sweet.

I am now a satisfied man..

However I cannot get the bike started The gent that owned the bike before me fitted a Spyball alarm SP/AM139.I was fiddling round and must have dislodged a wire. I had a look under he tank and in the relay box and I am not confident to start unpicking the wires. I want rid of it.

If you should know of a mobile electrical mechanic in the Tunbridge Wells, Kent area that is looking for easy money let me know. I would have contacted BGM in Pembury however he hasnt been replying to emails

If you could remove the tank again and open the relay box & post photos of the wiring where you think the alarm is connected, I'm sure some of the members would love to talk you through this. Others will point you to the electrical diagram.
Now is the time for you to learn all you need to become comfortable with understanding the electrics on the machine.
You will be amazed at the wealth of help you'll find here.
Please post, with pictures, an exact description of what is/is not occurring when you attempt to start up.
Also be sure to include an exact model year & frame number.
Welcome to the insanity.
Please post picture of ex wife!......LOL

Hi Mark,

Dont give up on it. I went through some electrical problems, well sorted with help from members here, including 88KE. Its also sociable and as you have just discovered there are lots of likeminded people around and willing to help. It sounds frustrtaing but its not when you get back up on the K.
