Welcome Mark,
Thats a very nice Example of a K there , are you able to fill us in a bit more on specs.
have you just purchased it and have you had much riding on it , looks very comfy.
Any issues , just Cooee as the guys here in the Knuthaus enjoy tackling any problems, any thing to keep the old K's on the road.
Cheers Ed.

Bought the bike in September from a classic bike dealer in Manchester, this had obviously been someone's pride and joy with a fork brace and progressive springs up front, air shock on the rear, the wheels have been powder coated another rest of the paintwork is very good, steel brake lines and lots of stainless bolts etc. It,s 1990 and has only done 37K miles, I have only done about 800 miles so far as it has been a cold wet winter here so I have been doing a few jobs on it ready for spring, changed all the oils and a new front tyre, gone over the brakes, fitted a new screen and most important got a spare seat lowered, this was due to my short legs as I was on tip toes at junctions and this is a heavy bike, now okay with lowered seat and adjusted rear shock. I really like this bike as it is very smooth with a lot more power than my R80RT, it does seem planted more on the road and I like the fuel pump whistling away, gives it a bit of character. Only one small problem so far is a small oil leak from the oil pump area, using this forum I have decided it is,nt the seals but I suspect it needs new sealant between the faces of the oil pump and the engine, but the engine oil was overfilled when I bought the bike and when I changed the oil and filled it with the quantity shown in the manual it was again overfilled, I have just drained some oil off to the red dot on the level glass so I will see how it goes this summer.

Great looking bike, especially nice pin striping.

Just wondering about front discs as they don't appear to have the usual slotting. There's also been some pros & cons about fork bracing posted on this form--you may wish to check-out.

Cheers! Smile

That is a nice K and very nice colour scheme.

Front discs seem like they are rear disks, not seen them without slotting. Are they stainless or cast iron?

My K does have the fork brace and two piece front mudguard [fender].

The new screen interests me as it is wider and higher than the one on my K, it looks good and good protection.

I am 5' 8" [173cm] and have the taller seat but decided the trade off for in comfort for the lower east wasnt worth it. I use the K quite a lot and have had some long weekend runs on it.

You will enjoy it in the nice weather.......

The front discs are cast iron, I suspect from Motorworks, I had to get the seat lowered as I don't think I would have kept the bike to long otherwise, I was tip toeing at junctions and did'nt feel safe, now okay with the rear shock lowered as well, comfort on the lowered seat seems okay but I have had no long runs on it yet. Mark.
