I was going to post a video, but thought it a bit harsh if folks are not prepared to see our national emblem getting smashed by racing cars at 200kph.

Google Bathurst and kangaroo
or Mt Panorama and kangaroo.

Videos are not real pretty but if they want to race they really should buy a car.

Gees he should have seen that I picked it up on the first run through as plain as day sitting there and turned to look and hopped out. If it had been a foot futher he was gone for all money, lucky guy.
Around tidbinbilla is prime country for that to happen.

I think the critters head hit the cylinder of the bike and not the front wheel which is when the fun really starts.

Rick the wheel bit and fun starts is where i must have it all wrong... I seem to have the slow motion reality check and such things come to mind ... This isnt good, wow what a pretty sky, ohh looky the pavement is darker close up... Ohh the sky again.. This is going to hurt.. Yeh i forgot to have that fun thing somewhere in between..

We have those pesky horned rats here in texas and i have been very lucky to avoid them..

Yeh you could see the roo moving.. I mightve hooked up a fistfull of front before hitting, if i was lucky...but i think the end result for me wouldve been bad.. Sky ..... Pavement... sky...passing the bike...lol

Gotta say the cameras today are pretty darn good tho..

Cheers

Thats what I mean by the "fun" bit as in it all happening.

I don't think that anyone can say what is the correct way to avoid a Roo, like a deer they are very unpredictable.
They are very traffic aware they come to the side of the road look both ways and hop out. affraid

Unfortunately a few weeks ago a rider and a kangaroo collided on this road just after the second 60km/h sign. Neither survived. The spot is now marked with a new caution sign and a cross nailed on a gum tree.

I had a pleasure to make this clip some months ago. It is a nice place to ride.

Broughton pass near Picton, NSW
