Just wait a few minutes then, Ingepedia will come online and have the part number, dimensions, price and who made them. And he'll be correct on every detail. That's our boy!

Now he's pretending he actually works. We all know he is a hacker and just sits at home all day
just waiting for a question so he can hack into some factories mainframe.
Long may he reign.

Covers for the sides are in the Research and Development stage. I have applied for a government grant to cover the future costs. This has serious export potential.

Here is one available at most grocery stores. It already has a square hole but you may want to trim it to be closely adjusted to your radiator.
You could apply for 3 government grants:
1 for recycling card boxes
1 for research and development (A radiator cover that you can fold for shipping is something new)
1 for exporting your patented idea.

Always reckoned those FJRs would make a good anchor but that silly bugger didn't even shackle a chain to it. Like reef anchors they are expendable.

as mentioned before:

all items : K100/2

avilable at any BMW Store - all items needed klick here

I´ve bought them new - last year for my K1100/2

not cheap but good - compared to the prices for rotten used K100 basic covers in e-bay

pls be aware that you´ve got to construct the 2 upper "noses" on the cooler to fix the left and right cover

these "noses" on the K100/2 are originaly welded on the tank

Olaf, your red K1100 is absolutely fantastic. What a great restoration, I also admire the way you've stayed true to the original design ethos of the 'K'.

Cheers

It´s the org. BMW screen K100 / K75 / R100R

mounted on the K1100 with the R100R assy. (the K assy only fits to the 2V K models)

meanwhile Ive changed to MRA Varioscreen Pic´s see here

it is as effective as the BMW screen - adjustable in the height and angle

Yeah they are expensive even used are difficult to find. I saw one in US for $400 and it was the only one for probably 12 months that I had seen.
Maybe we should be making fibreglass replicas.

Don't forget they are designed to fit snug to a K75 tank and not the K100.

My K75 tank has a little bracket attached to the front on each sidethat holds the top part of the surround.

Red tank is K75. Silver is K100

And the snorkel is different also.
where can i get those radiator covers Dsc04750

And then you need the radiator cover that acts as part of the mounting of the covers.
where can i get those radiator covers Dsc04751

Motocol did his bike a few years back. I am sure he would say it is worth it based on how good his bike looks, but a lot of cost apart from the plastic bits.

Well . . given the difficulty sourcing these things I am looking at simply wrapping a piece of light sheet steel around the entire radiator, up to the tank, cutting it to shape and cutting out the insert for the radiator, then using moulding trim for the edges and painting the whole thing.
The only cost would be a sheet of steel, some trim, paint and time . .probably looking at about 8 hours fiddling around and like, $30.00 materials

Will keep meditating on this and see what I can come up with. It is probably last on my list of priorities for my rebuild but I definitely want SOMETHING for radiator side covers

At the moment the best I have seen is this:

where can i get those radiator covers 100707061537_dscf0171

and I cannot remember where I got the image from :-(

probably random off google

That one is a K75c. They are a good looking one but unfortunately dont fit a K100. They radiators sit at different angles.

The classic BMW radiator grill was inspired by the cars of the mid-80s.
