Hi, Just thought i would say hello, especially because it says it was requre i did not know that. I am the proud new owner of a 1985 k100rt. It was all beat up but it runs and drives great I paid 800$ for it. Has 50k miles, since the body ws so beat up i decided to go the cafe racer route, It has been two weeks, and here Things I have done so far:

Stripped anything that wasnt needed to be road legal, or wasnt necesary for anything else.

Removed both wheels cleaned thoroughly, painted flat black with flat clear over them, and reinstalled IMO these rims were meant to be black

Put a set of clubman bars, with an extended brake line to fit to the stock system, also a set of bar end mirrors and new grips

Installed a 7'' round headlight from a 1930 ford truck, with fork tube headlight mounts, and more modern LED blinkers

I ordered a cafe tail from online, it should be here in a week, I will end up making my own seat of foam for it and covering it with vinyl

modern LED New tail light and rear blinkers as well

More modern pegs (just used stock mounts and bought pegs for a F4i street bike)

Moved coolant overflow to left side right in front of the air box

Moved key to left side of tank and used stock mounting hole on bottom side of tank to secure it with a custom made plate

I chose a burnt mettalic copper for the color, looks more like metllic orange and is AAAWEESOOMMEE especially with the black rims, I painted the tank, but have not laid down the clear, I will do that once the tail comes in I also have new emblems for the tank.

Im sure there are things im forgetting But this project of flying along quickly and i love how the bike looks as of now.

Once question for you guys (who have already answered 50 other questions without even knowing it)

Is there anyone/where out there that makes a four into 1 collector for these? My exhaust has a large dent in it, And i was hoping to find a four into 1 and weld up a muffler of my choice?

Please let me know I have searched hi and low and come up with nothing, I would think it would not be that hard.

If not is there anyone that has a DIY on modifying the stock exhaust? Im interested as to what the internals look like. Maybe make a cone out of the stock collector?

Thanks!! and i will try to get some pics up here soon

MAC make a four-into-one system for the Mighty K. It's cheap and nasty and they say it fits only 86 & 87 models for some unknown reason - footpeg mounting is one reason, but... They pop up on eBay once in a while. Alternatively, type the word 'zorst' into the forum's search engine and see what pops up, as well. Also see what member Scheffers has creatively done with his headers, again by searching. The search feature can be your friend without having to ask. Good luck on the build.
