Picked up an 88 K100RS for $0.00. Was parked up in a shed for the last 5 years and in a rather sad state.
It is a runner, which surprised me as it hadn't been turned over for at least 4 years. But the engine is the best part by far!
The poor thing has been crashed and lost its fairings, left hand foot peg and mount smashed, broken gear lever, bent forks (very slight) to name a few things!

I'm not planning on trying to restore it but make a naked bike that is a comfortable daily ride.
I ride a Aprilia Falco and it does not like the daily commute in traffic. Its fine while the traffic is flowing but get stuck in jam and the temp goes through the roof, clutch gets heavy and becomes a general pain in the butt.
I test rode a K75 about 12 years ago and it was smooth and handled this sort of thing really well. I didn't buy it because at the time I thought it was umm..... boring. How things change eh?

Not a lot of work happened so far due to work commitments but about to kick into over the next couple of weeks.
I have picked up a Motoco single seat in mint condition and still not sure if I will use it or not but its different so for that reason alone it may stay.

hey mad

JATZ and I on kiwibiker are going to order a circuit board for speedo removal.

Contact JATZ with pm if you would like shared freight to get it from Canada to NZ

Done!

Thanks for the old foot peg brackets too!
Yours are slightly different to mine but will work perfectly well. They are going to get fairly heavily modded anyway.

Oh well I suppose there will always be set backs and thats part of doing a build like this.
Started to sand back the tank today and I was hoping to clear coat the alloy but alas its full of bog.
So it will be a change of plans unless I can find a super cheap tank thats not bashed up.
Im now thinking of using water transfer printing or hydrographics on the tank, front guard and the tail piece. Anyone here used it?

Are you tempted by the 3m carbon wrap?

I see some guys on KB have used it. $90 for enough to do the bike.
