I got a call saying that the battery was definitely shot, so I took over a battery pack and jumped her off & rode my first BMW and then bought it.

It had a 5000 mile engine put in it ~25K ago. I'll ned to lube the splines and verify that the alternator is charging well - with the dead battery @ ~2k it showed 13.7Vs and @4.5K about same. At idle showed ~ 11.2-11.5V.

Rear MC may need attention and rear disk is a rch under minimum.

Before I took it on the road I drove it around a rather tight hi-rise condo indoor parking garage cutting through slots in parking spaces and was pleasantly surprised at the way it handled at low speed.

Of course, my 250 lbs of near muscle probably helped - ha ha!

Remember - I'm used to 350 lb bikes!

All-in-all stoked and looking forward to working on this bike and taking some trips onit.

Congrats, Brad man.

Measuring the charging with a malfunctioning or empty battery don't give the correct voltage reading.
It didn't seem to be that bad, normally your reading would be a bit higher with a good battery.

Good on you, enjoy your new ride.
Yes they are surprisingly agile and easy to manouvre, at slow speeds, you will find this at high speed as well.
Good for dodging potholes and the like, should the occasion arise.

welcome mate.....K's are comparable to Herc C130's made at your location, indestructible, tough and so popular that all the data is out there...we are very active so use the search and ask questions...arguably the best forum on the net...enjoy mate.

cheers Klompy
