Evening all

I thought I would officially introduce myself - although I have posted once or twice on other on other sections.

I am English , working in Luxembourg and living in France.

For many years, bike was the only means of transport (and pleasure) so racked up some significant mileages, I think the tops was near 80,000 one year.

My BMW history: R45, R65, R80RT, K100RS (8v), 5 * K100RT - current stable is a K75C (with aftermarket Sprint RS fairing) and a K100RS (16v) - both high milers and not exactly concours!

There have been quite a few other bikes in there too, notably a Yam TDM900 (my only ever brand new bike), Triumph Trophy 900 and Honda CBF1000.

Now back on 2 wheels only as the bl**dy car has packed up!

I have always thought there might be a TDM in my life one day. You've had great collection on BM's over the years and you obviously have a lot of miles under your wheels.

Wow, an R45 in your past. My first BMW was a 1969 R60/2. You had to have patience to break the speed limit on that thing.

I you ever go to the BMW dealer in Metz, pass my greetings to Francoise. (She's the woman at the motorcycle front desk, and she's very nice). On the top of that, she knows a lot about parts for older bikes.

Thanks for the heads up on B57 Mr Frog! Does Francoise know you as "Crazy Frog"??

And don't worry about writing in French, my reading and listening is fine, speaking and writing are not my strong points, but I am determined to work on that!

The TDM is a nice bike (one up)

Light and flickable, great on mountain roads - the FI can be snatchy, mine was, others reported no problems. Mine lasted pretty well, I sold it with 78,000 miles on , and she was looking pretty good. Chains lasted well, with a decent oiler.

Oh yes, hence the decision to turn it into an R65!
