I just replaced the old type lead acid battery in a K75s that was new in 2006, it was on the way out and most likely would have failed this winter as it had showed some signs of failure recently. The barrery was never kept on a tender and the bike was ridden often but also had 3-4 weeks of not being used on occasions. Paul.
