I have loved it since I got it last year but it just has to go. It's playing havoc on sciatic nerve and poses a serious health hazard to my licence.

Sorry to hear that electric monk. As soon as I hit 50 bits started to fall off me, now the only place I am comfortable is sitting on my RT. Hope you get a good price mate.

Sad news to see a rider calling it a day but that nerve pain is no laughing matter.
You can always stay on the forum we wont tell Bert you haven't got a bike anymore.

Don't worry Rick, i'm not giving up the bikes. I did almost 700km on Saturday and Sunday on my Airhead GS and had no problems. IT's just the K that is giving me a couple of issues, so i'm trying to move it on and get another airhead.

I'm the other way I had an R80RT and found it hard on my back but got the K100 and had a new lease on riding and now it's better riding than driving the car.

Life goes on E_M. At least you're still riding...that's the main thing.

You're always welcome here if you want to put your two cents worth in.

Sorry to see you having to part with it E_M. As a long term back injury victim I can empathise. Have you tried an LT/RT set up to see how it works with the back? Your welcome to try mine anytime.

I know an RS in standard mode would Kill my back but I do love the sportier look of them and yours is such a low miler.

Back issues seem to be a problem here. I still drive my Peugeot 405 largely because of my back on long journeys. Tried a lot of cars but none seem to work for long trips.

The K seems to work really well, doesnt cause me any back problems-might have to do with trhe 'Comfort Seat' that is extremely that. Did 375 miles in one day and felt ready to do same again.

I have a friend with some some problems and he went for a three wheel!! He seems happy with it too.

405s have a remarkable ride comfort for the price that they can be bought for . I bought my SRDT for $750.00 and it is magical .Runs well an vege oil too.Wish I could get the K75 to do that.

Dalderton,

I did pay a bit more for the 405, bought it new so it has had a life of tlc. It does run on veg oil too, just over €1/litre here and very clean. Simple to maintain as well. Just now needs a bit of tlc though. Changed thermostat in it on Saturday and all was fine except I didnt tighten the drain plug properly....coolant light on yesterday morning when I was heading off to a meeting 110 miles away on a nice sunny morning......

Any of those Peugeot/Citroen diesel engines with the Bosch fuel pump will run on straight vegetable oil as does the old Mercedes W123 200D.

The only alternative transport was the K.....wasnt much incentive to put coolant in the car. The route is a real bike paradise too.

In fact the weather here is so good just now will leave the car for a few days. I have to sort it though as I am replacing my head bearings before our run up north on 22 September. I can feel a slight amount of play in it and dont like the low speed handling so rather than just check them I will replace them.
