NEW2ME

K100LT '91 with 38k miles from original owner. Pristine condition. Sits along side my 2 KLRs set up for back road explorations. Now I have road tourer to take along the better half and explore the roads in MT.

Looking forward to all the support info on the forum. Been riding for 45 some years. Looking for another 20 with some luck. My last road bike was a Vulcan 1500. This has a whole new feel.

Classic first trip this afternoon. Over Lolo Pass for dinner at the Lochsa Lodge on US 93. Beautiful trip and the bike was super.

The bike is a super find wansfel. With such low mileage it has done a lot of sitting around so I guess you've given it a thorough service. Click on the portal page above and at the bottom under "Other useful links" you'll see an article called "You've just bought a used K, so what now" well worth a read. Good to have you aboard.

The bike had a major dealer service just 2,000 miles back including the spline servicing. PO had all maintenance records. Never really sat too long and everything appears to be in near perfect condition, but I am looking forward to doing much of the maintenance myself. PO even provided the oil filter wrench. There is really virtually not a scratch on this bike. The trip yesterday was over a significant 2 lane mouintain pass about 120 miles round trip. Lots of scenery and wildlife (brake checks).

This is the the beginning of the Lolo Pass our new friend is referring to. It remains one of my favourite North American roads, and perfect for a Mighty K! I had the good fortune to be able to ride over it (and back) on the Fourth of July weekend in 2007 on my K1200S. The pass is on the Idaho/Montana border and this photo doesn't do it justice, but it's a taste. Cheers, Wansfel!

This is where I was heading...and was the first in the queue as the rangers opened the Going To The Sun Highway in Glacier National Park for the year....so much snow at the top that the full length of the road can't be opened up to the public until past the middle of the year!

This is all out my back door. Most of my riding is remote dirt on my KLR and the paved roads mere links to the real rides, but the K bike will allow me to take SWMBO* along . After all, it was her Mother's Day present. By the way, we started our life together (41 years thus far) with a BSA 441 as our sole source of transportation.
