Some of you may remember that I had bought a bargain K100RT about a month ago.('I'm back folks!') Well, with other things going on, I'm only getting down to doing something with it now.
Looking very promising. Starts on the button and the engine is sweet as a nut. According to the test certificates, it has only done 3000 miles in the last 8 years.
Its a bit cosmetically challenged at the moment but nothing serious.
Needs a good clean, a service and one or two items freshened up, plus a set of fork seals.
There is a little damage around the mirror mounts and I'm going to have to spray the front mudguard (after I buy one). Otherwise the paint on the bodywork is in excellent condition with few marks or chips.
There is no colour scheme label under the seat so was wondering if anyone knows the name or paint code for this particular model. Will add photos later.
It was first registered in January 1985 and is a pale metallic blue. A bit like silver with a blue lacquer over it. No pinstripes.
The biggest clue might be the seat. Its in navy blue, no cuts or tears.
Any ideas out there?

I think you'll find it's paint code 616 Columbia Silver (in english words).

Both photos certainly look like it but these are both '86 on models as verified by the 616 code.
Mine was registered in January 1985 so is probably an '84 model. It also has the older type seat with the handle.
Maybe it has been resprayed with a later year colour at some point. I know one of the mirror pods is not the same original colour. Have to examine it closer.
It was the navy blue seat that made me think it was original.

Any thoughts on 605 Madison-Metallic?
Its a 1984 colour, standard on the RS and available as an option on the RT.

I'm still mulling over the "new" colour (note the correct spelling).

Is orange too far out there? Gunmetal grey (note the correct spelling) also look good.

But white just looks clean and sleek.
