Hi there fellas,

Right now I'm finishing the overhaul of my K 100👽 and I'm going to clean the fuel injectors with cleanning carburator spray but, I got a doubt about Question if they should be connected in a certain form I mean, if they got a positive and negative connector or it doesn't matter how they are connected.

As all of you can see, I keep on asking about some stupid things:oops: Embarassed

Thanks for answering

Hi there, regarding the injectors cleaning, these are common car injectors and the best way to clean them is to take them to an automotive fuel injection shop, they have the ultrasound cleaning and testing machine and the required internal micro filters and spare orings, is also cheap and fast.
Now if you want to play and do it your self , there is a lot info on the subject in the forum.
Best regards
JAP

Yes, polarity is important. Refer to the photo below:

Cleaning the fuel injectors IMG_0247

This is a picture of a K100 injector with the associated electrical connector. The brown wire is NEGATIVE and the white wire is POSITIVE. Keep this orientation on the injector and your power should be applied in accordance with this polarity. The connector is keyed so it only fits in one way; the issue comes if you use aligator clips to apply power to test the injectors.

HTH.

As always, I'm completely amazed because of your speed in answering my questions.

As rob has said, I got the intention of doing the test using aligator clips, so I guess I should first to find out what's the polarity of each pin looking the bike's connector.

Thank you so much

Be careful putting power to the injector. They are only ment to open for milaseconds. Keeping power to them too long can damage them. I am in the process of buying a machine to clean fuel injectors. The machine ultrasonicly cleans them and leak test them. It also will flow test them to see how much fuel they release in a set amount of time. Once I am up and running I will be offering this as a service for all types of fuel injectors. But I will be focused on BMW K bikes.
