Hi there,

As I told you in my earlier posts, I'm making a restyling in my 87 K 100 rs 8v and despite I've been searching some info in my usual forum about how to adjust the TPS connector:( Sad , no one gets answer for my question and here I am.

Please forgive me but try to understand that it's easier for me just for language use.:pale: :pale: :pale:

I'm reading this forum very often, improving my English and my "BMWish"Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

You want to make the adjustment with the CHOKE off. Then loosen the TPS and turn it until you hear a 'click'. Then tighten up. Done.

To double check if it is correct. The click is the microswitch working so when you open the throttle the switch should click right at the same time. It is a very fine adjustment and the closer you make it the better it works.
The bike will run well without the switch working at all so if you set the switch so when you return the throttle to the off position the switch has not clicked the bike is better to ride at slow speeds in heavy traffic. If I have confused you please ask again. I will not yell at you as the English do.

The ignition does not need to be on as you hear the switch click as it turns on and off. You need to listen carefully as it is not loud. You could use a meter across the switch but you need to remove plug on top of the tps.

The above advise is applicable when the throttle set-up is correct. I have seen a few bikes that when you removed the TPS the butterfly valves suddenly closed further, the bike ran rough and, initially, no one knew what happened.
As indicated above, the TPS should make a clicking sound when you just open the throttle a bit. However, normally it is something you do after synchronising etc.

Thanks for your info Rene, I've found it highly useful.

Could you tell me where this info comes from?

I'd like to own one of these.

Those pages are from the recently uploaded BMW service manual. If you have access to the download section, you will find the PDF file there. If you don't have access, contact Crazy Frog for the password and don't forget to make an introduction thread in the "Member Introduction" section of the site (one time, ask me how I found out Rolling Eyes )

Those pages are from my own book that I bought at Moto-bins. I'm a person that likes to have a book with him when he does some maintenaince (easier, for me, to browse between pages) Indeed an electronic version is available through the download section.

Thanks for that useful info.

Last week I've known about what realoem really is so, you can imagine how much I know about this matter.

I'll keep on growing up in the K's knowledge.
