New bike to me - what is this bit? It's dangling just behind the right hand side engine cover.
All electrical appears to be in working order. Dang, I can't get the picture to upload.

This sounds to me like the connector for the speedo cable coming from the rear drive hub. Follow the wire from the plug in on top of the hub on the right hand side, along the top of the drive shaft, up and around the coolant overflow bottle, there should be a loose connector there somewhere. Take the RH side cover off to get a look at it. Then DeoxIt clean before you connect up.
Has your speedometer being working?

possible power supply to auxillary plug socket, located above the cover for your ignition coils, the T shape with rubber boot is what is on mine, the speedo coneector is a flat 2 pin .

The only connector there that meets that description is the plug on the alternator. If it is that it will have one thick red wire and a thin blue wire, it goes into the rear of the alternator or you may call it a generator.

Two wires, both light gauge
One brown (presume neg) one red with white stripe.
It originates from under the tank.
It looks like it should belong on a sensor of some description. Where is the air temp sensor located?
Speedo and all electrics seem to work fine.
I'm away to the Long Beach bike show this weekend, I'll pop the tank off when I get back.
I have a picture of the fitting, but I cannot post for another week or so due to forum policy.

I see from the Haynes Manual that there is a red with white wire going into the flasher unit. My flashers work now with this bit unplugged???
I see white with red in the airflow meter.
Both units show a brown wire.
My map is black and white - so that's all I can find.

The only other red with a white trace is to pin 1 on the instruments for power to the clock. Some how I doubt it is that.
There may be a red with a grey trace and a brown that is an aux connector could that be it. I am not sure where it is positioned, I would have said under the tank at a guess.

Clock works just fine.
The bike has an aftermarket power-outlet, hard wired to the battery at the moment. I cannot see any other power outlet on quick inspection.
I only got the bike Tuesday - just enough time to change brake fluid and go for a short ride.

You will find that the wiring diagram in the haynes manual is a VERY generic diagram. It is not entirely correct for either my K75 or K100.
When you gain access to the interactive diagram on this site you will find a much better source of info.

I've got another bike torn apart at the moment - for a valve check.
I'll look at the 'K' after the weekend. It's got to be a sensor... The rubber boot is a nice seal.

Sorry, When I said right side, I meant the other right side, the one on the left. Thanks K Freak.
It's looking like the previous owner hard wired the power plug in to the battery and just left dangling the factory supplied power line.
