Seasons Greetings Bohumil and I notice from the picture that your RT (based on the seat) is either an '84 or '85 model and I am curious about the windscreen as it looks far more useful than the poorly designed standard one for the early year models and was it a just a straight swap?

Thanks bohumil as it answers two questions. The first being you are actually 7 cms taller than I am so for that screen to work for you something similar would be perfect for me also. The second is that it is obviously a standard screen but not the same as mine so I am guessing it is from an LT unless the European models had a different screen. I am planning to try and get two screens made by a perspex company which is close by where I work. The plan is to get a smaller "Summer" screen not unlike an RS and a "Winter" one like yours.

In 1989 BMW sold the K bikes with a taller windshield that could be cut to accomodate the height of the rider. I believe this is a 1989 windshield.
This windshield is good for late fall and early spring but way to hot for the summer. I solved the problem by installing an electric one.

Hi Bert,
I note you have a different shock on your blue bike what is it and how do you find it compares to the standard. Also you have rather nice luggage racks what make are they?

The shock is an Ohlins and this is the top of the line for a K bike. The problem is that they stopped making this model. 15 years ago, the cost was $1,500. It had to be good for this price!
The rack for the top case is a Givi. You can see their product at : Givi top case

I have the givi top box mount on mine as well and while the top box is excellent I found the mounting system to the bike leaves a lot to be desired so I manufactured some very agricultural looking additional supports that actually mount to the frame. A bit like the reynolds rack which is no longer in production.
