I'm currently nearing the finishing line for getting my baby back on the road as a daily driver, after quite some time in storage, but ultimately I'd like to give the old girl a complete restoration to bring her back to her former glory. My question being, given her age, and the other trim levels in this class, would it be a worthy project, or would I be better going for another year which has possibly less bugs, and/or a higher trim level (LT for example)?

Personally, I love my bike and she's been an absolute delight to own, but is she an heirloom I could pass on to my son (who's emigrating to Australia soon and who also loves bikes)?

Cheers, Alex.

P.S. All comments cheerfully accepted, unless you think Milwall are a great team in which case, I challenge you to a drinking session at somewhere that serves a good stout!

My very humble one-eyed opinion is the RS is the nicest looking of the bricks for the K100 series...so long as it is red Very Happy

But the more that these bikes are changed, the "rarer" an original bike becomes. Yeah, I know, they made thousands of them, but still...

The flip side is, how boring would it be if we all rode around on stock looking bikes?

Horses for courses.

My favourite mlount is the RS, as well. But it's soooo subjective. If I was gunna take a long ride and my back wasn't what it used to be, I reckon a good upright riding position like an RT or LT would be ideal. But I'm more of the rearsets and lowbars type, meself. I like red too. A mate of mine calls it 'arrest me red', but I've not had a single velocity and forward progress award on the bike in 35000+ kms of riding this particular one. Touch wood.

1984 K100RS - Possible classic? DSC00233The K here in UK is considered a modern classic. I have shown mine at Andy Greenwood shows and I get entry to these shows for £1 as long as I show the bike.
