I just replaced my throttle cable on my '87 K100RS another not fun task but well worth it!

A few years ago I installed K100 throttle bodies and the "choke", actually fast idle, never worked well.
Yesterday I made a ferrule adapter to, in effect, shortened the "choke" cable.

To make the adapter, I used 1/4" and 5/16" automotive brake tubing. The ID of the 5/16" was too large so I slotted it, cut an ~3/8" long piece off, then soldered it to a sanded and fluxed piece of 1/4" brake pipe.
After soldering, I drilled the reduced 5/16" pipe out with a 1/4" drill bit.

I slipped a piece of shrink tubing over the new piece here.

This is what it looked like when finished. First attempt, the adapter was too long. I ended up with 5/8" end to end.

At the choke lever #2 position, it now works perfectly.
