Just bought a 1994 K75. I have had Goldwings and a Superglide HD in the past but havent ridden in 15 years. The brick I purchased was from an estate and looks pristine with 40k miles. But it has sat in a garage for while so I look forward to tearing it apart and doing some overdue maintenance. Tires are 10-12 years old so that is first and will give me an oppurtunity to grease the spline while the rear is apart. The heirs had replaced the fuel pump and it starts immediately and purrs like a kitten.

My questions for the forum is; It came with a Clymers 1985 thru 1989. Is it worth it to me to get an updated Haynes 1985-1995 or will the Clymers I have cover all my bases?
Also I intend to run 93 Rec gas in this just to keep the alcohol out. Any thoughts on what gas you K75 guys running?

Thanks for any responses.

Welcome!  I would just go with the manual you have.  Not many if any changes from '89 to '94.  There are factory manuals here that you can use.

I know there are many who run the no-corn exclusively, but I can't justify the added expense(approximately $150/season) for the number of miles I rack up.  I have only been using the expensive stuff for the last couple weeks of the season before I put the bike away for the winter to flush out the ethanol.  Then I add a little Sta-Bil and Techron system cleaner.  Been doing it for 10 years now with no issues.

Your later model Brick is likely to have a Showa fork and a 50A alternator. The Showa fork isn't illustrated or discussed in your vintage Clymer. Diagrams are available at a parts fiche like MaxBMW's. The 50A alternator has slight design differences in addition to the output differences but all easily resolve by consulting a fiche or finding relevant discussion threads here. My Brick gets E10 all the way, but the tankful going into storage for 6 months gets Stabil added to the fuel.

Put the year, model and type—S, RT, or standard—in the Signature section of your Profile tab so it will show up with every post you make to inform readers.

Welcome Jim

Looks like you are going to have some fun. Enjoy and you were lucky to find one in such a good condition with low mileage.

Greetings Rolf
