Thank you for having this forum. I just acquired a 1986 K100 RT. It had been in storage for the past 10 years and ad I have a lot to do over the winter to get ready to start it. So I'm going to need help.
The gas is 10 years old and I'll have to drain it and add fresh. I'll change the oil and filter as well as the air filter. Thought Id put in new plugs and of course a fresh battery. I am mechanically inclined and have worked on lots of japanese bikes but his is obviously differnt.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

Dave

Just a thought. If you have not tried to start it yet, be sure to check the condition of the fuel lines etc. in an effort not to mess up the injectors.
Ive been down this road before. most trouble getting a bike that has been sitting so long have been fuel related. rubber bits turn to gunk and cause all kinds of problems.

specifically the vibration rubber holding the fuel pump. the old gas eats it up.
