Hi brickheads.
I'm John, live in Norfolk, UK and I have two K75's
3 years ago I came across an eBay listing for a 1989 K75C, knew nothing about then but it was £700. Spoke to my partner about it as a project bike and she agreed
Phoned the garage who had taken it in as part ex, "an older gentleman rode it in, said it was getting to heavy, don't know anything else about it, sold as seen" they said.
Made a deal for £550 went and test rode her and brought her home.
Initial intention was to just give it a service, by that time I had read A LOT about K bikes so knew about the drive shaft splines etc.
Once home I opened the seat and found her full service history, 1 previous owner, bought her new in 1898 and all the services he'd done himself but with BMW parts.
Well my idea of a project bike changed from a cafe racer to a full restoration. All of which I did through Covid lockdowns. Now done over 12,000 in 3 years in her and she's just clicked over 50,000.
Also bought a 1986 K75S that somone had started to build into a cafe racer and lost interest. Paid £700 got it running but it's now been stripped down and built back up properly as a street scrambler style as even though somone had cut it up it still needed saving.
Anyway those are my two girls, Klara (K75C) and Letti (K75S)
