Hello Everybody,

I haven't been around for some time now. Last year I was diagnosed with colon cancer. Thankfully it was a stage two scenario. I underwent surgery then some chemo and I'm getting back on my feet now. All indications are that the cancer is completely gone but you know how it goes. I have to go through a five year plan to be deemed cancer free.

Anyway, I still have my bike and she's looking better than ever. This picture is actually a few months old. Just this past week I gave her new plugs and plug wires (the originals wires were still on the bike). I ordered an oil change kit from beemerboneyard, changed the oil, tranny fluid and final drive fluid. I also changed the air filter and fuel filter and put some new rubber on those wheels. She's ready for my first real trip since recovery, a three day jaunt down to south texas to a little place called "the three sisters".... supposedly the three best motorcycle roads in Texas which is saying a lot. Texas is friggin huge!

Well that is that problem out of the way...you will be OK now so get in the saddle, fill that massive tank and live the life.

Welcome back, Slowride. It's good to know that you're overcoming one of the tougher challenges life throws our way. I was havin' a look round the place and came across this youtube video of a BMW R1200GS riding on the roads you're planning on riding, complete with wobbly camera and Brit-pop band Coldplay keeping time as sing-along tour guides. Looks perty nice, but probably wanna keep an eye out for Jackalopes out in them thar hills. Cheers!

Surely you have an account with you-tube (mine is mrfantavox) Then you can post your videos on line and they will then have a URL.
Once this is done click the video when posting and add the respective URL....bingo.
Bert has probably got a better way but it works for me.

PS.For any other videos on u-tube click SHARE to get the video playing to find the URL copy and paste to your "Post Reply",

ie; You must use "Post Reply to find the video tab. Click that and add url from SHARE... I hope this is clear.

Happy to see you back and glad that you didn't loose your interest in biking.
Your health problem was certainly a small bum(p) in your life but after this 100,000k service you should be OK for many miles.
This is one area were we cannot compete with the K100....... We don't have a stainless steel muffler
Take care of yourself, and yes, jump on the bike and enjoy a nice ride.

Thanks Everybody. My interest in riding is bone deep. It's the one thing that's kept me pushing forward through this challenge...the need to feel the wind in my face and those four cylinders humming down low.

Changing those plug wires sure smoothed things out but you have to think....man....26 year old plug wires that still fire somewhat ok lol. Gotta give props to BMW for a fine product.

And Crazy Frog... I just got my bike inspected yesterday and the young fella doing my inspection said he'd never seen a bike rolling down the road with 100,708 on the odometer. I told him there are K bikes rolling with well over 300,000 and BMW's all over with over a 100,000 miles on them. They just never sit long enough for the average bystander to check the odometer.
