Here in OZ it would depend on which state, in NSW they remained in service till 40000kms, then sold at auction. Some other states ran them into the ground before disposal. They're cheap, but before being sold on auction, they had a first life with a very stressful use. Believe me...top speed was average speed. No warming before pursuit...when a car refuses to stop, you jump to the red line within seconds.
After this gentleman break-in, they sometimes are dedicated to the training for new motorcyclist, or sit directly for years in a purgatory to exchange their still usable organs with out of order parts to maintain other bikes in order to be usable.
What imports is that the bike is eventually sold complete , but completely composed of worn out parts. There's no money for maintenance, so...

Mmm. Plotholes and Hollywood. The end sequence (bike hits car, rider clears the bonnet) is... somewhat incorrect. You need to be doing a minimum of 30mph to be unfortunate enough to find yourself in that situation and the rider was going nowhere near that fast. Also spot the stunt cable if you look very carefully - the angle that the rider leaves the bike is totally wrong. BTDT. Well, almost. 25mph and I ended up on the bonnet (hood) of the car. Bike survived with broken indicators (Yamaha XS250), I survived with bruises, car - a six months old Austin Montego - was a write-off. I admit I was childish enough to paint the outline of a Montego with a cross through it on the tank of my V1000G5 Guzzi!duck wrote:
