wish i could make it guys ...sounds like a great bash .
my historic registration day over at inverell today , some 65 kilometers by highway and 80+ odd kilometers by dirt track , "the quite sedate way " had me traversing the path twice today , leaving at 7.00 am in quite coolish conditions of 6 degree c on gerty along the highway path , and due to tk the dr 200 suzuki not being capable of holding 100kph up and down the hills on the highway path so the dirt option was chosen ....unfortunately "tk" chucked a wobbly on the way home and threw a bolt holding the front output sprocket letting the sprocket wedge between the frame and swingarm locking the whole drive chain , the resultant break in the chain links was an end of story event , whilst climbing the Wellington range hills on the dirt track on the way home ....this was the second time this has happened , which makes me think that the bolt used was the wrong dimensions ( ie - length ) ..DOH !
fortunately "red " "fred and "gerty " made it through the roadworthy processes with red and fred pre approved by inspection a couple of weeks ago whilst on a historic - restorers club run through Glen Innes . tk also made the inspection qualifications but this chain break put a bit of a hole in the decidedly pleasant days riding ... sigh
merry christmas to the northern Crew .. wish i could be there , enjoy and be well , will catch up soon enough ...ill post a pic of RED as it gets new historic plates whilst still in evaluation mode ...
