I already have a bit of Aldi motorcycle gear. Their sale is normally in August, on Tuesday as the SWMBO and I were leaving Aldi to my surprise I spotted a basket with motorcycle gear in it. Pairs of motorcycle boots in sizes 8-12 one pair each and a couple of pair of jeans size XL. Having partially torn off the sole on one of my boots when my foot hit the ground and took out my pannier, I decided to have a look. There is no cover over the zip so probably not fully waterproof and the zip is not as heavy duty as my current repaired Dririder boots.  Tried them on are they are comfortable so for $25.00 AU I'll give them a try.
Regards Martin.

Thanks Martin
I've been using a pair of the summer short boots for 4 years now and they have lasted really well.
I also used a riding jacket from Aldi and it has lasted about 6 years but has finally given up the waterproofing (actually snow storm made my mind up. Geez those were the days. actually was only about 3 mnths ago)
Anyway I digress, my biggest problem with Aldi is their sizing, XXL is about normal Medium so try everything on first. (or I could lose weight, like that's going to happen).
Cheers, RT

Besides sizing the only trouble with Aldi is they keep on reducing the amount of items each year. I've never had any trouble with their quality. I've been buying their gear for at least 7 years, and just realised I have built up  quite a collection.

Regards Martin.

I tried a pair of Aldi boots a couple of years ago but found there wasn't much flex in the sole plus they were a bit uncomfortable for me.
The leather jacket I bought back in 2013 was ok but I found that either the Medium had arms that were too short or the large was too big in the body. I ended up giving it away.
The gauntlet gloves have been fantastic. Lasted 5 years so far. I went to buy another pair recently but they now have a ridiculously large palm heel protector that makes then way too awkward to wear.
The more recent wet weather gear fits well and is good for the amount I use it.
The jeans have been great for the past 5 years. Not been able to pick up a new pair as they seem to run out before I get there. I need a Medium pair if anyone has a spare pair they don't want.
Cheers

You need to get there before they open and queue. This year I wanted two of their Merino jumpers, even though I was up the front I only managed to get one at one store and had to go to another store to get the second one. It has settled down a lot, a few years ago it was a race and there were a people grabbing heaps of stuff and stacking it into trolleys. I tried their leather jackets a couple of times, it fitted but I'd probably only wear it a few times a year.
Regards Martin.

I had a good run from Aldi boots, but the quality of the gear seems to change year to year. My five year old Aldi boots now live in Thailand with my vacation bike. Only problem has been the lining/sock came loose when full of tropical downpours! Glued back in now ready for the next trip.

Five year old Aldi jeans, with aramid patches and armour pockets, just soldier on faultlessly, but I have seen reports of later years having problems.

Aldi gloves have served me well mid season in Australia, soft and comfortable. Mine had no palm sliders though and suffered a puncture wound into the heel of my thumb in a fall onto a metal Spike. Glove written off, hand rebuilt! 😉

Unfortunately this year Queensland missed out, only getting two things. The disc lock and the bike cover. You can check the status of their gear on Aldi's site which came up with no information on the items I was chasing until all the bike gear disappeared. The jeans showed up very early on as not available. Each year they have less bike gear.
Regards Martin.
