Hi all,
Names Dave, email fastdave, for back in the old days 1985 to be precise, I had a double telephone line, enabling me to get a blinding 128Kb internet speed! - boring really, nothing to do with my 128 ban!
Anyway, I am the proud owner of an eccentric mechanical inbalanced device - yes, a BMW K100 1987, with a Watsonian sidecar -  an amazing and technically well named machine, for it is strange to ride. It goes very well in a straight line, till you brake, then, depending on which brake you use, it swings or pulls to the side - when you accelerate, it drives from the rear, forcing the sidecar down - very important, for if you slow down on a left turn, good chance you'll tip her to your side. Honest, it's scary till you get used to it - they wouldn't be allowed nowadays!! but of course, departments of transport could never admit something they didn't know!
Hey, when I need a quick trip in the fresh air, I have a little Honda 125, and my '91 Honda VFR 750 FL sits in the drive, waiting patiently on a refurb, although it works perfectly.
This BMW is impressive - I see they do them up as street bikes, etc, but being a purist - I'll keep this forever.
I am a mechelec engineer of very long standing, drifted in to HV electrical, as an AP (Authorised person - write safety programs for Maintenance), and enjoyed everything I did - now getting used to doing as I please.
Dave.

Welcome Dave Smile

I do all my stunts self, including working on K-bikes and electric (city)busses Smile

As lead engineer disaster, I managed to collect a lot of files, like workshop manuals and other BMW related, all for 2-wheelers.
For the Scotchman (and woman) with a drink we allow 3 wheels Razz

Grab some files and enjoy ; https://mega.nz/folder/yjAzhCxS#2_06gg_yu77ap2NO8IPGaA

Welcome to another sidecar rider.  When you think about their behaviour they dont make any sense.  After time all the characteristics and responses become reflex.  Just fun to ride, otherwise i wouldnt have had mine for 15 years.

Al
