It's mine as it's got my name all over it. However who ever had it must of hammered it to do an engine 3187 miles.
Regards Martin.

Curious.  A 1978 BMW K1?

On the other hand, I do like the coachwork.

Looks like it was previously auctioned in 2021.

Huh. I've got a set of brake calipers like that, complete with adapters for a Tonti-framed Moto Guzzi. Someone better tell the new owner not to ride it because you can't get the seals any more. Unless, that is, you're willing to buy four sets of K1100 caliper repair kits at - oh, £73.67 each - just to get the smaller caliper seals which happen to be the right size.

You can probably guess mine are still in a box in a cupboard somewhere.

I would almost agree but if it was truly yours you would have lop off a cylinder

She's a beaut!  I have no pretensions to ever being rich but if I were, I'd want one for the stable (and a Krauser Domani too Very Happy).  Thanks for sharing this.

Out of curiosity, if TWB reads this thread can you check the VIN and Engine number for the amusement of the membership?

...... and the disappointment of the vendor!

Cheers

I had to peruse the linked articles for a VIN and saw only the sub-manufacturer's numbers which won't do me any good in searching on BMW's sites. Does anyone have a 17 digit VIN or the last seven of an abbreviated VIN?

I thought that Martin never sold a bike based on BMW. But the french frame maker made 50 units for Manfred Brune, which this bike is probably. 40 were produced, 10 remaining, but the rumor says that they're not straight and should not be used. One is regularly advertised in Germany, for years.
Yet...the VIN number is not the VIN used on Brune motorcycles: from MB1000 to MB1050.
Apart from the frame, Brune made and assembled all the components. The Forcella fork and what seems to be a 16 inches front wheel make me say that it's one of the last produced.

Anyway it's a very nice bike, at a very decent price. The piece missing in my collection.

 But very far also...too bad!

Talking about interesting bike  tell us a little more about the bike you are using as your Avatar

Someone out here in Oz has turned a k100 into an adventure bike with a full on skeletal frame only some a few pic and not one of a complete bike

I do have a dark shed with some 75s in it and I do have a F650 GSD in the garage.  From what I see here, I need to keep them apart or the result could be ....

Hmmm.  Food for thought.
