Hi,
Getting my new tank working. One last detail. What size of Roundel to use?
I've measured the old tank's roundel and my other K75's tank roundel and
come up with 70mm. But on Max BMW's website I'm seeing 60 mm.

Part number: 52 53 7 686 464 BADGE - D=60MM
Any comments? Bigg'un or Little'Un?
Another aside. From EME I purchased
Submersible Fuel Hose BMW K Bike, Oilhead ; 16 12 1 180 040 / EnDuraLast
https://www.euromotoelectrics.com/product-p/fp-hosekit.htm
Looked like a reasonable product and a good deal cheaper than the regular hose.
I bought and installed it. First ride out heard a real weird
drumming sound at about 2K rpm. Stopped my ride and took the bike home.
Opening up the tank (no flapper) I see the fuel filter vibrating like heck in
the full fuel. I put my finger on the filter to stop it and the sound disappears.
An hour later I've removed the EME thingie and replaced it with the hose
from my 1st tank. No noise now. Problem apparently comes about because
EME supplies you with two of the accordion pleated hose and this allows the
fuel filter too much space or something. The older system had a very short
piece of hose that ran from the filter to the pipe that carries the pressurized
fuel out to the fuel rail. And a very long piece of hose that ran from the pump
to the fuel filter. I couldn't tell but it may be that use of two lengths of the
EME EnDUraLast material was a bad combination. Anyway I've got the
problem under control for the moment.
best regards
J.
